MB&B Seminar: “Precise Control of Microbial Proteome”

Event time:
Monday, May 20, 2019 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm
Location:
Jane Ellen Hope Memorial Building (JEH) See map
315 Cedar Street
New Haven, CT 06510
Event description:

A cell is densely filled with thousands of different proteins whose abundances define physiology. Balancing the production among these proteins is a tremendously complex problem from the perspectives of both evolution and regulation. In this talk, I will describe our work towards understanding the biochemical principles for optimizing protein abundances amidst the cellular milieu, as well as the mechanistic links between regulatory sequences and protein synthesis rates at a quantitative level..1
