Combined Bachelor of Science & Master of Science (B.S./M.S.)

To provide exceptionally able undergraduates an opportunity to accelerate their professional education, the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry (MB&B) offers a combined B.S. and M.S. program usually requiring eight terms to complete. You must apply for the BS/MS program in the fall of your junior year. Students considering the BS/MS program are strongly encouraged to discuss their plans with their MB&B advisor.

Requirements and application process for the B.S/M.S.

(coming soon…) The form to fill out for consideration.

Note that the same information is sometimes being asked for in more than one place, in different contexts. The deadline for returning this completed form to the DUS and DUS registrar is no later than last day of classes of your 5th term. This application is written assuming you plan to graduate in the Spring of your Senior year. If your circumstances are more unusual, please explain and make appropriate adjustments.

You will be notified within a week of the deadline of the DUS decision on your application. If approved by the DUS, you will also need to submit before the end of your 5th term a “dynamic form” application, located here that will then go to Dean Jill Cutler for consideration by the Yale College/Graduate School Committee. Notification of admission into the program will occur in early Spring.
