By Meaghan Sullivan: Assistant Professor Candice Paulsen has won two early career awards to support her research studying the pain receptor TRPA1 using biochemical characterization and cryo -EM structure determination. The The International Associaton for the Studyof Pain has presented her with an early career award, citing the potential for her research to generate knowledge that could be used to develop novel analgesic and anti-inflammatory agents. She has also been recognized for her research by the Rita Allen Foundation and is a 2018 Award in Pain Scholar. The program invests in promising researchers paving the way for safer pain treatments.
