Carl Zimmer, Adjunct Professor in the MBB Department, penned the piece published last week in The New York Times alongside Jonathan Corum, the paper’s science graphics editor. The article walks through the genome of SARS-CoV-2, briefly introducing the readers to the concept of viruses and RNA, before showing each of SARS-CoV-2’s ~30,000 bases alongside the proteins they work to encode.
