Congratulations to Joe Howard on being named a Pew Charitable Trusts 2024 Innovation Fund Investigator! Eight pairs of researchers, all alumni of Pew’s biomedical programs in the U.S. and Latin America, were chosen to make up the 2024 group of investigators. Joe Howard will collaborate with Tomás L. Falzone, Ph.D., a 2002 Pew Latin American fellow from the University of Buenos Aires, to uncover how the diameters of dendrites and axons support the demands of optimal neuronal function, providing foundational knowledge about the inner workings of the brain and neurodegeneration.
