Daniel DiMaio honored with Yale Cancer Center Lifetime Achievement Award

Congratulations to Dr. Daniel C. DiMaio, MD, PhD for being awarded the Yale Cancer Center (YCC) Lifetime Achievement Award at the Center’s Annual Conclave on January 5, 2023!

The Yale Cancer Center presents research awards in various categories to recognize the work and accomplishments of the scientists and clinicians who have dedicated their life to better understanding and treating cancer. The Lifetime Achievement Award is given annually to a YCC member who has impacted the field on both a national and international level.

Dr. DiMaio is the Waldemar Von Zedtwitz Professor of Genetics and Professor of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry and of Therapeutic Radiology. He has been at the Yale School of Medicine for nearly 40 years and has served in various leadership roles at YSM. His research on human papillomaviruses has contributed significantly to the field, so much so that he received an Outstanding Investigator Award from the National Cancer Institute in 2020. He also is a member of the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering and is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

During his time at Yale, Dr. DiMaio has not only contributed with his research, but also with his mentorship of dozens of students, post-docs, and junior faculty. MB&B is proud of Dr. DiMaio for receiving the YCC Lifetime Achievement Award and all his other accomplishments.
