By Meaghan Sullivan: On March 19 and 20, over thirty-five Yale scientists and engineers traveled to DC to learn about science policy jobs. Sarah Smaga, a fifth year MBB graduate student in Yong Xiong’s lab, organized the trip through her involvement in the Yale Science Diplomats. The trip enabled service-minded scientists to visit the Department of Energy, the House Science Committee, the Office of Congressional Research, the State Department, the National Academy of Science, and the Union of Concerned Scientists. Students also had the opportunity to attend a networking happy hour and met with many of the great Yale Alums working in DC.
