Wanqing Lyu and Lea Kiefer selected to receive American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship Awards

May 31, 2018

We are pleased to announce that two MB&B graduate students were selected to receive American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship Awards. Wanqing Lyu in Tony Koleske’s lab and Lea Kiefer in Matt Simon’s lab both received the prestigious fellowships. Wanqing will be investigating how the platelet-derived growth factor regulates integrin activation. Lea is developing new chemistry to study RNA population dynamics. Lea and Wanqing are both international students (Wanqing from China, and Lea from Germany) and the AHA Award is one of very few fellowships for which foreign graduate students are eligible. Congratulations Wanqing and Lea!
