Congratulations to Amer Al-Hiyasat, an MB&B and Physics double major graduate (YC’21), for being awarded the Russell Henry Chittenden Prize. This prize is awarded each year to the graduating senior majoring in natural science or in mathematics who demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to scholarship.

Along with maintaining top grades in both of his majors, Amer has been highly involved in undergraduate research through his work in the Howard lab in the MB&B department. He graduated summa cum laude with distinction in each of his majors, and was also involved in a variety of student organizations. Amer was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest academic honor society in the country, and Sigma Pi Sigma, a physics honor society, and he served as the president of the Yale Arab Students Association. Amer’s dedication to his scholarship, research, and community make him incredibly deserving of the Russell Henry Chittenden Prize. Congratulations, Amer!
