MB&B Seminar: “Shaping membranes with proteins and cytoskeleton: deciphering mechanisms with reconstituted systems”

Event time:
Friday, January 24, 2020 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm
Location:
Bass Center for Molecular and Structural Biology (BASS) See map
266 Whitney Avenue
New Haven, CT 06511
Event description:

Cell membranes are involved in many important cellular functions, such as intracellular trafficking, endocytosis and exocytosis, adhesion and migration, signaling… Over the years, in vitro reconstituted membrane systems combined to theoretical models have been instrumental for understanding cellular membranes. I will present some examples from my own group to illustrate how with these model membranes we have deciphered some mechanisms for membrane shaping as well as for the formation of cellular protrusions.
